About Us

Uganda Youth and Women’s Effort Fighting AIDS (UYWEFA) is a registered community-based organization serving Kazo, a village about 10km away from the Kampala city area in Uganda. Established in 2007 by the people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS in Kazo, it aims to mitigate the challenges associated with HIV/AIDS in the community in terms of education, health, nutrition, employment, resettlement and community engagement.

The daily operation of UYWEFA is made possible by local teachers and administrative staff, as well as local and international young people contributing to its work on a voluntary basis. It has received generous financial support from individuals and entities including PEPFAR and Barclays Bank Uganda.
